Zug, Switzerland/Luxembourg City, Luxembourg - Infront and the European Volleyball Confederation (CEV) have announced a two-year partnership which will see the latter move its streaming platform, EuroVolley TV, onto Infront Lab’s Stream Engine, the company's solution for custom built Over-the-Top (OTT) streaming platforms.
Stream Engine will allow CEV to adjust their existing streaming channel, EuroVolleyTV, implementing changes based on fan preferences and feedback. The platform will host one main channel with galleries for the various disciplines and events of indoor, beach and snow volleyball falling under the CEV umbrella, including live and on-demand events, highlights and archive content from previous seasons.
Using Engines 365 technology, the organisation will also add highlight widgets to their main website, leverage Content Engine for automation and improved social media workflows, and Activation Engine to engage fans and collect zero and first-party data, learning more about them on a personal level.
This new deal builds upon the existing long-standing partnership between Infront and CEV. The migration of CEV video content to Stream Engine symbolises a new, end-to-end partnership between Infront and CEV to maximise and productise media rights and reach new markets globally. This comes as part of Infront Lab’s positioning within Infront’s Media, Betting and Technology Unit, to allow Infront to expand on existing relationships by bridging the gap between media and tech.
Damian Browarnik, Managing Director, Infront Lab said: "The agreement between CEV and Infront to leverage Infront Lab's Engines 365 is a natural next step in our long-lasting relationship by extending our rights agreement to the OTT platform. We will continue to work hard to grow the organisation’s exposure globally, with our joint aim of bringing volleyball to every corner of the globe.”
CEV President Aleksandar Boričić said: “Infront has been by our side for many years in our continued efforts to grow and modernise the sport. This agreement represents the natural next step in a productive partnership that has been growing over the years and we now look forward to capitalising on the technological expertise of Infront Lab to raise the quality and appeal of our OTT platform to the next level and to deliver highly engaging content for fans from across the globe.”
Viewing of content on EuroVolleyTV will be dependent on geo-locations, allowing fans in different parts of the world to watch relevant content based on media rights. Those already subscribed to EuroVolleyTV will be automatically migrated to the new channel, and new subscribers will be treated to new pricing models going forward.
Infront Lab is part of the Group's Media, Betting and Technology unit led by Amikam Kranz as Senior Vice President. This combination of Infront’s technology business with betting and media rights provides more holistic commercial opportunities to rightsholders.
