Zug, Switzerland – Infront, a Wanda Sports Group company, has today announced a new agreement with Formula 1 team Alfa Romeo Racing, marking its first move into the top flight of single-seater auto racing.
The non-exclusive agreement, which runs until the end of 2020, means Infront has expanded its presence within motorsport, further highlighting its intentions to grow its presence in the sector.
Interest in Formula 1 has increased in recent years following the sport's acquisition by Liberty Media and the Alfa Romeo name returned to the sport for the first time since 1985 in 2018 when it became the Title Sponsor of Swiss-based team Sauber.
Their driver line-up currently boasts 2007 world champion Finland's Kimi Räikkönen and rookie Italian Antonio Giovinazzi. The team currently sits sixth in the Constructor Standings.
Infront also holds the exclusive media rights to the FIA World Endurance Championship, including the 24h Le Mans. It also acquired Youthstream, the owner of the exclusive television, marketing and global promotional rights to the FIM MXGP Motocross World Championship, earlier this year.
Infront, a Wanda Sports Group company, is a leading sports marketing company managing a comprehensive portfolio of top properties. Infront covers all aspects of successful sporting events, including the distribution of media rights, sponsorship, media production, event operation and digital solutions. Headquartered in Zug, Switzerland, Infront has a team of around 1,000 staff working from 43 offices across more than 14 countries, delivering approximately 4,000 event days of top class sport around the world every year.
