Mönchengladbach, Germany – Megamarsch has announced a change in its leadership, with Suzanne Dorok stepping into the role of Managing Director, succeeding Marco Kamischke.

Marco, who founded and built Megamarsch into one of Europe's most recognised endurance event series, will continue to provide support as an external consultant while also pursuing new opportunities.

Suzanne brings almost two decades of experience in the tourism and leisure industry, having held senior positions at NH Hotels, Center Parcs and Roadfans. Most recently, as Commercial Director Rental and authorised signatory at Roadfans, she was responsible for the motorhome rental division and led the revenue management, marketing, customer service and logistics departments.

Marco Kamischke said: “Building Megamarsch has been an incredible journey, and I am proud of what we have achieved. Suzanne’s leadership, experience and expertise in strategic commercial planning will be instrumental in driving the next phase of Megamarsch’s growth. I am confident she will bring fresh perspectives and continue to elevate the brand.”

Suzanne Dorok said: “Megamarsch is a unique and inspiring challenge that has motivated thousands of participants in Germany, Austria, Spain and Switzerland. I am excited to take on this new role and look forward to working with the team to continue to drive this growth and increase the reach and impact of the event.”
The leadership transition is effective immediately, ensuring a smooth continuation of Megamarsch’s operations and future development.

With over 50,000 participants at 26 events in four countries, 2024 marked the most successful year in the history of Megamarsch - a series of events that began in 2016 with just one event and 200 hiking enthusiasts and is now one of the largest long-distance hiking events in Europe. The growth trend is set to continue: the organiser expects the number of participants to increase by 10% to 55,000 by 2025, with the number of events remaining the same.

Megamarsch offers three different challenges: 100 kilometres in under 24 hours, 50 kilometres in under 12 hours and 50 kilometres through the night in under 12 hours. The format is not primarily aimed at extreme athletes, but at all those who want to set themselves a personal challenge.
