Expanded agreement delivers increased exposure and coverage across the region

Zug, Switzerland/Paris, France/London, UK – Infront and the Premier League have renewed their partnership for free-to-air (FTA) media rights across sub-Saharan Africa, extending the collaboration until the end of the 2027/28 season. The agreement also includes new rights to the Emirates FA Cup, further enhancing Infront’s offering in the region.

The updated deal covers 48 countries in sub-Saharan Africa (excluding South Africa) and comprises 33 Premier League matches per season from 2025/26 to 2027/28, along with four Emirates FA Cup rounds annually starting in 2024/25, making it a total of 37 weeks of top-class English football delivered to sub-Saharan Africa per season. This marks nine consecutive seasons of collaboration between the Infront and the Premier League, during which Infront’s Africa division has consistently expanded coverage to deliver value for stakeholders and fans alike.

Paul Molnar, the Premier League’s Chief Media Officer, said: “The Premier League is pleased to extend our free-to-air partnership with Infront in sub-Saharan Africa until the end of the 2027/28 season. This renewal demonstrates our shared commitment to an important region that is home to a large number of loyal Premier League fans.”

Andreas Kaeshammer, Head of Football at Infront, said: “This sustained success demonstrates the strength of our approach in managing high-profile media rights on behalf of the Premier League across diverse markets. As one of the few major agencies managing Premier League media rights, we’ve worked seamlessly with the league’s in-house team to drive significant growth and deliver tangible results. This approach has cemented our position as a trusted partner to four of Europe’s top five leagues. The inclusion of Emirates FA Cup matches is another milestone in our mission to increase football’s reach in a region with an immense fanbase.”

Infront’s Africa division, headquartered in Paris, has been a key component in the Premier League’s distribution in Africa. Over 25 broadcasters in more than 20 territories currently show matches weekly on free-to-air television, with plans to further increase accessibility in the coming years.
