Infront strengthens biathlon presence with marketing rights for the 2023 IBU World Championships Biathlon in Oberhof
Zug, Switzerland/Planegg, Germany – The German Ski Association (DSV) and Infront, a Wanda Sports Group Company, have expanded their 12-year partnership through a new marketing rights partnership for the 2023 IBU World Championships Biathlon.
The agreement adds to Infront's current role with the DSV as the exclusive marketing rights partner for IBU World Cup races and the Four Hills tournament as well as the international media partner of all FIS World Cup events in Germany.
Stefan Krauss, Vice President Winter Sports and Managing Director Infront Austria said: "The IBU World Championships Biathlon are an absolute highlight of the winter sports season. It is an excellent base for our sponsors, providing comprehensive brand exposure in Germany – a top biathlon market. I am already looking forward to this unique event."
Stefan Schwarzbach, Board Member Communication of the German Ski Association said: "It was a logical step for us to once again rely on the expertise and proven network of Infront to market the IBU World Championships Biathlon in Oberhof to ensure they will be successful from both a sporting and economic point of view."
The 2023 event takes place in Oberhof, a stronghold of biathlon events. The last World Championships in the Arena am Rennsteig took place 15 years ago and organisers are expecting keen interest in the two-week competition.
