Zug, Switzerland – Infront and Ochsner Hockey will unite to jointly deliver all International Ice Hockey Federation (IIHF) merchandising for the next four IIHF Ice Hockey World Championships.
The joint venture means Infront will oversee and manage to full supply chain alongside a consistent partner. The move will provide better knowledge of the supply chain and allow for higher visibility on the production range and quality.
The new agreement will come into effect for the 2023 edition in Finland and Latvia and will give Ochsner Hockey exclusive rights to produce and market event-related official IIHF World Championship merchandise globally. It previously held a similar position from 2004 to 2011.
Sacha Ochsner, CEO and Owner Ochsner Hockey: “Switzerland has a rich ice hockey heritage, especially at the IIHF Ice Hockey World Championship, so the chance to collaborate is something we’re grateful for. The next four tournaments will each offer their own unique atmosphere, culminating of course with the 2026 edition here in Switzerland, something we’re incredibly excited about.”
Claude Hollenstein, Head of Ice Hockey, Infront said: “We have a long-term partnership with the IIHF and are constantly looking at ways to improve our service. Ochsner Hockey is recognised for its high quality and this joint venture will help us collaborate closer with all stakeholders involved to provide the best possible products for fans.”
Infront is the exclusive media and marketing partner of the IIHF and the two parties signed an extension to their long-term agreement in 2019, taking the relationship to 2034.
