Istanbul, Turkey – The Turkish Basketball Federation (TBF) has sealed an agreement with Spor Toto as Title Sponsor of this season’s TBF Turkish Basketball League Play-offs, which tipped off last week and will include up to 27 TBL matches. The Turkish sports betting provider leads a strong sponsor line-up – with the TBF’s exclusive media and marketing partner Infront Sports & Media having secured additional brands based on the newly introduced central marketing concept for the league.
Seizing the highly visible position of Title Sponsor, Spor Toto benefits from a composite logo widely publicising the brand across the Play-offs. In addition, it receives a vast array of rights including LED board advertising, on or near court signage, in game activation opportunities, usage of league marks and footage as well as the right to utilise player and team imagery in personalised print and/or TV campaigns. The TBL play-off matches are being broadcasted by TV Digiturk.
Harun Erdenay, TBF President, said: “This year marks the most competitive TBL regular season in history. The fight for the playoffs came down to the season’s final day and with Spor Toto’s support I expect an entirely different level of fun and excitement in this year’s playoffs. I thank SporToto for its support.”
The Spor Toto Play-offs got underway last week and will continue until 27 June. The agreement follows the successful marketing effort spanning the 2014/15 season, which has seen many new sponsors join the league. Infront has re-designed the commercial structure of the Turkish Basketball League last year and introduced a centralised marketing concept – offering consistent sponsorship packages across the entire league.
As a result, Infront has secured major brands both from Turkey and beyond, each keen to take advantage of a continuous appearance throughout the entire TBL season. These include Kahve Diyarı (coffee house), ING Bank (banking and financial services), Sony Mobile (mobile phone manufacturer), Leaseplan (fleet leasing company) and Metlife (life insurance).
Ender Uslu, Managing Director of Infront Turkey, said: “Basketball is one of the most popular sports in Turkey and is showing further upward trends. We register that sponsors fully recognise the tremendous development the league has taken with its new brand identity and central marketing approach. The involved companies will be able to fully exploit the strong impact of the TBL platform, in order to reach out efficiently and consistently to fans all over the country. As tension is now rising for the play-offs, all brands will be in in the spotlight of public attention during this national sports highlight of the year.”
